Work Injury FAQs

Work Injury FAQs With Advanced Chiropractic Wellness Center In Frankfort, IL

A work injury is one of the biggest reasons people choose to see a chiropractor. At Advanced Chiropractic Wellness, Dr. Scott Stratton has been serving the Frankfort community for over 30 years.

Since most people have not received the kind of care a chiropractor can give, it's common to have questions. On this page, you will find the answers to our most frequently asked questions.

What Can a Chiropractor Do For Me that My Family Doctor Can't?

The most important thing a chiropractor does is to fix your injury at its source, without surgery or other invasive procedures. We certainly wouldn't want to be without family doctors/general practitioners...but they don't have the training to adjust your joints, spine, and musculoskeletal system the way a chiropractor does. Some patients report they were able to avoid excessive surgeries or eliminate surgery entirely. Everyone's results are different--which is why it's so important to seek care as soon as you can.

How Exactly Does a Chiropractor Go About Treating Work Injuries?

In the initial assessment, Dr. Stratton or one of his assistants will talk with you about your work-related injury. We may also ask questions about your previous health. This will help us later on when we plan out a treatment program for you.

Then, Dr. Stratton typically performs a completely non-intrusive exam. Although we don't always take x-rays, they can be very useful, especially for accident-related injury, and so we may take x-rays instead.

We generally like to offer patients some initial treatment on their first visit, if at all possible. This is especially true in cases where you are experiencing constant or severe pain from your injury.

Over the course of your next visits, Dr. Stratton may use a variety of methods to treat you. Spinal alignment, joint alignment, spinal decompression, and other techniques are just a few examples. These techniques will help reduce your pain, recover its proper working order, and encourage or strengthen the natural healing processes of your body.

What Kind of Work Injuries does Advanced Chiropractic Wellness Deal With?

In his 30+ years of practice, Dr. Stratton has treated just about every injury that chiropractic care can treat! Some of the more common examples include rotator cuff injury and other shoulder injuries, back and lower back injury, repetitive strain injuries, concussions, muscle strains, joint sprains, leg pain, carpal tunnel, hip pain, headaches (including migraines), neck pain, foot pain (including plantar fasciitis), knee injuries, ankle injuries, wrist injuries, sciatica, conditions resulting from improper ergonomics, and injuries incurred from falling.

Reviews By Our Satisfied Patients

  • "I had pain in my right shoulder that went down my entire right arm and then started to go across my back to my left shoulder, ... I could not lift my right arm to drive the car, I could not sleep. It hurt for over a year. Now I have almost complete range of motion. I can do things I fogot I had stopped doing . I can raise my arm above my head. I can hold things in my right hand. I can sleep thru the night without any pain. For over a year I had the pain so it didn't go away over night but its so much better. I will be eternally grateful to Dr. Stratton."
