Here at Advanced Chiropractic and Wellness, we use a three-step healing program that includes pain relief, healing, correction and restorative care and wellness and maintenance care.
Initial Consultation and Evaluation
Before you enter into our treatment program, our chiropractor will want you to schedule an appointment for an initial consultation and evaluation. During this appointment, our chiropractor will ask you about your past and current injuries, how long you have been in pain and the degree of your pain. He will then perform an initial physical examination to determine if chiropractic care would be beneficial for you. If our chiropractor believes that we can help you, a three-step treatment program will be developed to heal your injuries and lower your pain.
1. Pain Relief
We understand that when you walk into our office you are in pain and seeking immediate pain relief. This is why the first step in our treatment program focuses on reducing your pain. During this phase, we will focus on relieving your pain naturally by starting the healing process. We do not use medications or invasive procedures to reduce your pain. Instead, we focus on helping your body heal your injuries. We typically recommend chiropractic adjustments and lifestyle advice. The chiropractic adjustments will realign misaligned vertebrae and joints to reduce inflammation and pain. The lifestyle advice is designed to help prevent re-injuring the area while you are healing. We may also recommend diet adjustments to ensure your body is receiving the right amounts of micro and macronutrients. This phase typically lasts between one and three months with sessions two to three times per week.
2. Healing, Corrective and Restorative Care
Once your pain has been naturally and permanently reduced, we focus on healing your specific injuries, correcting and misalignments and restoring your range of motion and the function of your joints. During this phase, we offer chiropractic adjustments, lifestyle advice and corrective exercises. The chiropractic adjustments will help keep your spine and extremity joints aligned. The lifestyle advice will help reduce your chances of re-injury, and the corrective exercises will help strengthen weak and injured muscles. This phase typically lasts six to 24 months and is dependent on the severity of your injury and any underlying health issues.
3. Wellness and Maintenance Care
By the time you enter this phase, your injuries are typically fully healed. Your pain levels are dramatically reduced or eliminated, and your range of motion has been restored. This phase of care focuses on maintaining your health and wellness and preventing re-injury. During this phase, we monitor your health and address issues as they arise. Most individuals only need to come into our office between one and four times a month.
